Leah Lawrence, President and CEO of Sustainable Development Technology Canada, Wins Stevie® Award for Women in Business

Female leaders from around the world recognized at event in New York City

Ottawa, Ontario – November 19, 2016 – Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) is proud to recognize its president and CEO, Leah Lawrence, who has been named a Female Executive of the Year award winner by the Stevie Awards for Women in Business. Leah was recognized with a Silver Stevie® Award in the Government or Non-Profit (11 to 2,500 employees) category on the 18th of November in New York City at the 13th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business Gala.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world’s top honors for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they run, whether public or private, for-profit or non-profit, large or small. The 2016 awards received entries from 31 nations and territories.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards were during a dinner event attended by more than 500 people at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. More than 1,400 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in more than 90 categories. Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 160 professionals worldwide who participated in the judging process for 2016.

“I’m very pleased to receive this award,” said SDTC’s Leah Lawrence. “It’s been an honour to serve as the head of a great organization such as Sustainable Development Technology Canada and help facilitate the success and progress of some of Canada’s most promising clean tech innovators and entrepreneurs.
