Description:

The proliferation of social networking, cloud computing, big-data analytics and mobile communications have collectively led to increasing demands for shared-data storage and high-speed data connectivity. Data Centers provide the backbone infrastructure of the digital age, accounting for more than two per cent of the world’s electricity consumption, and 1.5 per cent of the global carbon footprint, similar to that of the aviation industry. Globally, the traffic of data flowing within and between Data Centers surpassed 5.6 billion terabytes per year in 2015 and is expected to grow to 10.4 billion terabytes per year by 2019. Currently, there are no power-efficient, cost-effective and scalable solutions to support impending bandwidth requirements. Ranovus brings together technologies—including a state-of-the-art quantum dot laser, silicon photonics, integrated circuits and advanced packaging—to streamline the way data flows through a Data Center.
