How to Build a Winning Application
The two-part Statement of Interest Workshop will be offered both as an online webinar on March 6th & 20th and also as a live workshop in Vancouver on March 11th as a Globe 2008 pre-conference event.
The workshop will help entrepreneurs and clean technology developers better understand SDTC’s SD Tech Fund™ and how the program can advance promising new innovations to market.
Part 1 will allow potential applicants to determine if they should submit a Statement of Interest to SDTC’s SD Tech Fund™ and how and when they should engage SDTC to initiate the process. Topics covered will include:
- Mission and mandate of SDTC
- Where SDTC fits into the innovation chain
- Benefits of the SDTC program
- Program requirements
- Funding process and timelines
- High level overview of key evaluation criteria
- Highlights of investment priority areas
Part 2 is targeted to those who attended Part 1 of the workshop and have decided to submit a Statement of Interest to SDTC. This session will cover what is required to create a quality submission. Topics covered will include:
- How to scope and structure an SDTC project
- Detailed overview of evaluation criteria
- Eligible project activities and costs
- Funding considerations and alternate investment sources
- How to build a winning consortium of partners
- Building the value proposition
- Quantifying environmental impacts

Please note that the Vancouver workshop will be delivered in English. French staff will be on hand and will be able to provide explanations. French copies of the presentation will be provided upon request.
